Position: Production Lead

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

We are seeking a Production Lead to help us continually aspire to our purpose and mission by ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of a manufacturing department of highly engaged personnel. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining an energized environment, where employees work together to safely produce quality products that meet or exceed our customer’s requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Assist in coordinating daily operations performed in assigned production department.
  • Ensure employees in department are assigned properly to jobs.
  • Work with peers and other department leads to solve daily challenges, work with supervisor when the challenge persists.
  • Responsible for safety recommendations and assisting in any injury reporting and investigation.
  • Ensure products have been inspected to ensure they meet all established company standards for quality. Submit QCN’s as needed.
  • Review work for quality & training opportunities.
  • Executes training for new employees and work with employees to develop skills and job proficiency.
  • Works with supervisor to highlight employee concerns: adherence to policies and standard processes; communicates to supervisor any concerns with ongoing issues.
  • Provide input for performance related activities including reviews.
  • Assist with stand-up communications.
  • Assist with efforts in continuous improvement.
  • Drive lean initiatives including, 5S.
  • Make recommendations regarding the improvement of procedures in the department.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are performing properly and submit maintenance requests as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing methodology preferred
  • Experience in identifying and driving operational change and excellence.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
