Fin and inside tube surfaces need to be clean to continuously provide maximum heat transfer. Filtering the fluids prior to them entering the coil and/or regular equipment maintenance help maintain efficiency. Still, by their nature, some applications will cause rapid fouling of these surfaces and require more frequent cleaning.
Super Radiator Coils offers several options to effectively help with the cleaning of the coil surfaces.
- Coatings or polished surfaces that reduce dirt adhesion
- Cleanable return bends allowing access to the inside of the tubes for cleaning (Photo)
- Removable water box/cover plate type headers to access and clean coil tubes, or if necessary, to quickly isolate a leaking tube
- Coils that can be easily removed or slide out of a mounted frame for cleaning
- Wide fin spacing, or fin bundles spaced apart to create effluent channels, making it easier to flush debris through and off the fins, then out of the coil
- Removable coil casing panels to access the fins on coils having a substantial number of finned tube rows
Coils that will be cleaned frequently must also be designed for the rigors of the cleaning agent and method to be used. This needs to be discussed prior to coil manufacture.
